Trump Media to Distribute Digital Tokens to Shareholders
By Connor HartPresident Trump's media company said it will distribute a new digital token to its shareholders in partnership with Crypto.com.Stockholders will be eligible to receive one of the new digital tokens for each whole share of Trump Media and Technology that they own, the company said Wednesday. Various rewards will be made available to token holders periodically over the coming year, including discounts tied to Trump Media products such as Truth Social.The company didn't say when it will distribute the tokens, though it noted plans to disclose additional details in the new year."We look forward to utilizing Crypto.com's blockchain technology and improving regulatory clarity to implement this first-of-its kind token distribution, reward Trump Media shareholders, and promote fair and transparent markets," Chief Executive Devin Nunes said.Shares rose 4.2%, to $13.10, in premarket trading.Write to Connor Hart at [email protected]
