
Top Cryptocurrencies Rise; Bitcoin Tops $84,000 Level
Major digital assets were higher late afternoon Friday, with Bitcoin (BTC/USD) surpassing the $84,000 level. The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, was up 5.2% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 gained 2.6%, the S&P 500 rose 2.1% and Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 1.7%. Bitcoin rose 5.2% to $84,502 according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume decreased 5.2% to $29.3 billion. Ethereum (ETH/USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, jumped 4.9% to $1,933. XRP (XRP/USD) soared 5.2%, BNB (BNB/USD) added 2.1%, and Solana (SOL/USD) jumped 10.4%. Dogecoin (DOGE/USD) rose 4.9%, while Cardano (ADA/USD) added 5.6%. The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.306% at 3 p.m. ET Friday, rising from 4.274% Thursday, while the five-year yield rose to 4.080% from 4.028%. The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry gained 4.9% in the past 24 hours to $2.75 trillion, with trading volume dropping 11.9% to $80.2 billion.
