
Top Cryptocurrencies Rise; Bitcoin Tops $84,000
Major digital assets rose late Thursday afternoon with Bitcoin (BTC/USD) topping $84,000. The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, gained 1.4% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 dropped 0.2% in late trading, the S&P 500 gained 0.1% and Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 1.4%. Bitcoin rose 0.5% to $84,711, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume dropped 23% to $22.6 billion. Ethereum (ETH/USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, rose 0.3% to $1,579. XRP (XRP/USD) fell 1.4%, BNB (BNB/USD) climbed 1.1%, and Solana (SOL/USD) added 0.7%. Dogecoin (DOGE/USD) advanced 1.2%, while Cardano (ADA/USD) rose 1.3%. The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.325% at 3 p.m. ET Thursday, up from 4.277% Wednesday, while the five-year yield rose to 3.938% from 3.907%. The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry increased 0.8% in the past 24 hours to $2.66 trillion with trading volume falling 18% to $66.5 billion.
