Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen sends roughly $140 million in XRP to exchanges over seven days: ZachXBT
A wallet long linked to Ripple co‑founder Chris Larsen has moved 50 million XRP, valued at an estimated $161 million, since July 17. The wallet appears to have routed roughly $140 million worth of tokens to three exchange‑connected addresses and parking another 10 million coins in two freshly created wallets, according to onchain investigator ZachXBT.The blockchain sleuth noted that 30 million XRP landed in two addresses that have historically been used to funnel assets to trading venues, while a third recipient received 10 million XRP. The final two addresses, each holding 5 million XRP, have no prior activity.Large transfers tied to early Ripple insiders often catch traders’ attention because of the concentration of supply. The SEC previously accused CEO Brad Garlinghouse of personally liquidating $150 million in XRP within three years when it sued the firm in 2020. Larsen and his spouse also allegedly sold tokens worth $450 million in the same timeframe, between 2017 and 2020.ZachXBT said Larsen-controlled addresses hold about 2.81 billion XRP, worth about $9 billion at today’s price of $3.20, according to The Block’s data.Larsen was recently spotted moving nearly $30 million in XRP to Coinbase, presumably to sell, as the token neared record highs. XRP cracked an all-time high of $3.65 on July 18, a day after. However, XRP’s price appreciation has cooled off this week amid a broader market pullback.Disclaimer: The Block is an independent media outlet that delivers news, research, and data.
