Crypto Market Might Struggle in Near Term — Market Talk

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies could struggle to recover meaningfully in the near term in the absence of a clear positive catalyst, TP ICAP digital sales director Hina Sattar Joshi says. "While the Federal Reserve is approaching the end of quantitative tightening and balance-sheet contraction is likely to slow materially into 2026, this shift alone is unlikely to be sufficient to drive a sustained risk-asset recovery." Quantitative easing probably won't happen quickly enough to prevent further downside in cryptocurrencies following the market's recent pullback, she says. Bitcoin rises 1.8% to $89,734 but has fallen from the record high of $126,223 in October, LSEG data show. Ether rises 2.2% to $3,040, having hit a record high of $4,955 in August. ([email protected])
