Its default consensus system, Tendermint Core, offers a validator-centric consensus mechanism consistent across multiple Cosmos blockchains. However, the criterion for validator selection varies by each Zone.ATOM is the primary token of the Cosmos ecosystem. For the Cosmos Hub, validators are chosen from the top ATOM stakers, and their influence is directly proportional to their staked amount. This token not only determines voting power in the consensus process but also is utilized to pay for transaction fees and engage in governance decisions. Validators, vital for network consensus, are incentivized to actively participate in proposal reviews, else they might be subjected to penalties.
