By Alexander OsipovichCoinbase Global has listed President Trump's meme coin, becoming the latest major cryptocurrency platform to enable trading in $TRUMP, following similar moves by Binance and Robinhood Markets.Trading in the Trump coin is now live on the Coinbase website and app, according to a Tuesday post on the X account for the company's listing announcements. Coinbase-the largest U.S. crypto exchange-said it would label the coin "Experimental," a designation it uses for newer and potentially riskier cryptocurrencies. The price of $TRUMP has gone on a wild ride since its surprise launch on Friday, boosted by an official endorsement from Trump. Its market cap is currently more than $8 billion.Trump's political opponents have warned that the coin creates a huge potential conflict of interest for the president, since he could profit from sales of $TRUMP while overseeing how cryptocurrencies are regulated. Even some crypto executives who supported Trump's election have expressed disappointment in the coin's launch, noting that meme coins are often linked to scams and do little to demonstrate the value of blockchain technology. This item is part of a Wall Street Journal live coverage event.
