Zerohash Reapplies for U.S. National Trust Bank Charter After OCC Return
Crypto infrastructure provider Zerohash has resubmitted its application for a U.S. national trust bank charter to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency after its July filing was returned. According to ChainCatcher, the OCC returned the application on July 17, citing insufficient materials.Zerohash said the return was an administrative step that allowed it to reapply this month and did not affect its current operations. The company said the first filing covered a broad range of digital asset and fiduciary services, and it chose a phased approach focused on national trust banking activities that better match its planned launch timeline. The Chicago-based company provides back-end crypto infrastructure services to institutions including Morgan Stanley's E*Trade, BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, Stripe, Interactive Brokers, and DraftKings. Zerohash already holds a state trust bank charter.
