Zcash Founder Zooko Wilcox Calls for Early Activation of NSM Smooth Issuance Mechanism

Zcash founder Zooko Wilcox posted on the Zcash community forum that he wants the NSM smooth issuance mechanism (ZIP-234) activated as soon as possible, whether the network adopts smooth issuance or keeps the halving plus smooth reissuance plan. According to Foresight News, he said smooth issuance under ZIP-234 is easier to explain in words, charts, and mathematical formulas, and could help more people trust Zcash.On Q2, the reissuance start time, Wilcox said it should be activated as soon as possible and safely. He argued that the earlier it is launched and tested over time, the more trust it can build through the Lindy effect, while delays could instead create suspicion. He said he would prefer to vote for starting it when NU7 is activated.
