Vana: Vega upgrade expands staking with per-read fees and buy-and-burn - 29 Sep 2026

Vana's Vega upgrade is live, expanding staking so the network earns a fee on every individual data read. Each fee splits 60/20/20: 60% goes to stakers, 20% buys and burns VANA on the open market, and 20% funds builders. The change ties staking rewards and token supply directly to network usage.The per-read fee creates a usage-driven value loop. Higher data demand increases staker payouts and open-market buy pressure at the same time, while the burn component reduces circulating supply. With over 1.5 million reads recorded last week, the mechanism has an existing usage base to draw from.
