Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said critics have continued to question the company even after KPMG U.S. completed its first full financial audit. According to Odaily, he said some critics cannot admit they were wrong about Tether and added, "Honestly, I don't care."Ardoino said Tether has repeatedly shown it can withstand pressure. He said the company handled $7 billion in redemptions within 48 hours in 2022, equal to about 10% of reserves at the time, without suspending redemptions. He also said criticism is not necessarily negative because it pushes Tether to improve. Ardoino said he does not mind being seen as a villain as long as Tether continues serving the 650 million users he said rely on USDT, especially users in emerging markets.A person familiar with the matter said Tether, as a private company, does not publicly share audited financial statements. The company plans to conduct a full audit once a year and continue publishing quarterly attestation reports. The KPMG audit was described as a step toward greater transparency, but questions about reserves, disclosure, and systemic impact remain.
