Scammers Use GTA 6 Hype to Run Phishing Site Targeting Crypto Wallets

A report said scammers used interest in GTA 6 to set up a phishing website that claimed to sell a leaked version of the game for $50 or 1 SOL. According to Odaily, the site urged visitors to connect wallets and sign malicious transactions.The report said the website contained about 2.4MB of malicious scripts that could identify wallet assets on Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Base, and Fantom. It could then immediately transfer assets based on permissions signed by victims, or obtain permission to move tokens and NFTs later.The script also checked visitor IP addresses before activation and avoided users in 10 countries, including Armenia and Russia.
