A sandwich attack bot operated by JaredfromSubway.eth has extracted 117,007 ETH since March 2023, worth about $295 million at current prices. According to ChainCatcher, an anonymous attacker deployed 66 fake token contracts in June 2026 and used the bot's automated trading logic to steal at least $7.5 million in ETH and stablecoins, with the funds sent to Tornado Cash and still unrecovered.Sandwich attacks are a form of maximal extractable value, or MEV, in which bots monitor large pending Ethereum transactions in the public mempool, buy before the target trade, and sell after the price rises to capture the spread. The bot's main contract had received 117,007 ETH as of August 28.MEV-Boost block building remains concentrated among a small number of participants. Relay.ultrasound.money, Titan Relay, and bloXroute regulated relays forwarded about 85% to 88% of related blocks within a 24-hour window, while Titan's builders independently assembled 50.3% of blocks. Monthly sandwich attack extraction has fallen from about $10 million at the end of 2024 to about $2.5 million in October 2025.
