Ripple Pledges Significant Donation to Nepal

Ripple has pledged $300,000 in emergency aid following devastating floods in Nepal and Tibet. The funds are going to World Central Kitchen and Mercy Corps.The company announced the donation on X on Aug. 29, stating that the money will support emergency meal distribution as well as water and sanitation efforts in those communities that have been affected by the terrible flooding.The floods have caused severe damage in . Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, which are located close to the border with China, have been hit particularly hard by the floods.According to World Central Kitchen, more than 100 people have been killed, and hundreds remain.The horrifying disaster has been caused by an ice-rock avalanche from a glacier. It temporarily blocked the Lhende Khola River, a tributary of the Bhotekoshi River, before unleashing a sudden surge of water downstream.There have also been concerns about secondary flooding after a lake formed by debris from the initial collapse.Ripple's charitable effortsĀ Ripple has a long history of supporting humanitarian and charitable causes.In October 2025, for instance, the San Francisco-based company partnered with Water.org to fight food and water insecurity.Ripple says it has supported WCK since 2020. It has helped the world-renowned organization to deliver millions of meals to communities and first responders affected by natural disasters. The partnership has also expanded into using Rippleās payment technology.According to its 2025 Impact Report, employees raised $550,000 for nonprofits worldwide in 2025, with 80% of employees participating in Ripple Impact giving and volunteering programs. Ripple says employee donations and matching since 2018 have exceeded $2 million.
