Phishing Site Uses GTA 6 Hype to Steal Crypto Wallet Assets

A phishing website is using interest in GTA 6 to lure visitors with claims that a leaked version of the game is being sold for $50 or 1 SOL, according to a Malwarebytes report. According to ChainCatcher, the site prompts users to connect wallets and sign malicious transactions.The report said the website contains about 2.4 MB of malicious scripts that can detect wallet assets across Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Base, and Fantom. It can then immediately transfer assets or obtain permission to move tokens and NFTs later, depending on the authorization signed by the victim.The script also checks visitor IP addresses before activation and avoids users in 10 countries, including Armenia and Russia. Malwarebytes advised users to be cautious of any site claiming to sell a leaked GTA 6 version, verify authorization details before signing transactions, and reject requests that seek full-balance transfers or token access permissions.
