Midnight: v9 upgrade brings contract composability to the network - Q4 2026

Midnight has announced the v9 composability upgrade, a network release that introduces contract composability. The upgrade enables events for token standards, contract-to-contract calls for DeFi, account abstraction, and the shared liquidity Offer File system, expanding what developers can build on the network.Contract-to-contract calls and token standard events allow separate applications to interact, which is the basis for DeFi such as lending, exchanges, and pooled products. Account abstraction lets applications manage user accounts through contracts rather than requiring direct key handling. The Offer File system shares liquidity across contracts, so orders posted by one application can be filled by another. Positioned ahead of broader public mainnet deployment, the release materially expands the network's application surface for NIGHT holders.Good news on the coming Midnight release & follow-up composability upgrade 👀As known, the v8 release enables private contracts, with composability (v9) coming afterThanks to our great audit partners, it look like the composability upgrade (v9) will be also be this year!
