Livepeer announced that Livepeer 2.0 makes compute the unit supplied by nodes, allowing CPU-only nodes and API specialists to compete on the range and quality of what they serve.By shifting supply from GPU hardware to compute, the release lowers the hardware requirement for participating in the network. CPU-only operators and API specialists can contribute different types of processing, so competition can depend more on the range and quality of services provided than on access to large GPUs.
