GalaChain experienced an abnormal asset outflow on Tuesday, with 1.99 billion GALA and other tokens transferred from five main addresses to a new wallet and then cross-chain swapped into ETH within about an hour. According to Odaily, about 82% of the affected funds, or 1.639 billion GALA, came from a wallet linked to Gala CEO and co-founder Eric Schiermeyer, which also sent out about $500,000 in other tokens.Hours later, Gala developers submitted a fix and described the incident as an EIP-712 unsigned field injection vulnerability in GalaChain. The cross-chain bridge was then suspended.
