Ethereum Name Service says ENS DAO has approved the proposal activating its new Security Council for the next two years, an eight-member group with veto power to cancel a malicious proposal after it passes but before it executes.This adds a defined safeguard to ENS governance during the timelock period. If a harmful proposal gets through voting, the council can stop execution before onchain changes take effect, which reduces the risk from compromised or rushed governance decisions.The effect is mainly defensive. It can improve confidence in the DAO's operating process, but it does not by itself change ENS token mechanics or create new cash flows.
