DigiByte: Mainnet activates Thaw Day consensus changes at block 24,490,000 - By 01 Nov 2026

DigiByte's mainnet activates the Thaw Day consensus changes at block 24,490,000, expected around 1 November 2026. The activation is a hard fork, so all nodes and mining operators must upgrade their software before the block is reached. Nodes that fail to upgrade in time will keep following the old rules and split from the network.Thaw Day turns on new DigiDollar functionality, so the fork adds a capability to the chain rather than only adjusting existing parameters. Because activation is tied to a fixed block height, execution risk is concentrated in a dated window: operators who upgrade late can cause chain splits, while a clean activation removes that uncertainty. After the block is reached, attention shifts from the fork itself to actual use of the DigiDollar feature. The upgrade enables the function, but adoption of it is a separate process that unfolds over time.DigiByte Core v9.26.6 RC2 is out.24 fixes, most of them straight from your RC1 reports.
