Dash: Plans v6.0 Smart Contracts With Provable Randomness - Q2 2027

Dash tentatively plans to add smart contracts in version 6.0, targeted for Q2 2027. The planned contracts would read and write Platform documents and include a built-in provable random number primitive for provably fair games.Document access would give contracts a way to use and update information on Platform, expanding the network's application capabilities. The randomness primitive would support games whose random outcomes can be verified. Together, these planned functions give DASH's utility outlook a specific development target, rather than a general promise of broader functionality. The schedule remains tentative and depends on earlier releases arriving first, so the capability expansion is a longer-term plan rather than an available feature.
