Chainlink co-founder and CEO Sergey Nazarov told the first meeting of the U.S. CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee that the CFTC and SEC are now cooperating constructively instead of publicly clashing. According to Odaily, he said this has improved the reputation and trust of U.S. financial markets and could help create a unified regulatory vision that avoids conflicting rules.Nazarov said regulatory fragmentation has carried a heavy cost. He said Chainlink provides data and cross-chain infrastructure for thousands of applications and supports much of the DeFi ecosystem. He added that over the past seven years, he has seen hundreds of developers leave the U.S. because of uncertainty, choosing not to build high-quality applications in the country or serve U.S. consumers. He also said equity tokenization is the next clear trend and could unlock significant onchain value. Nazarov noted that U.S. stocks account for about 60% of global equity market value and trading flow, and said the U.S. must move onchain at the same pace or faster if global finance accelerates in that direction. Otherwise, he said, innovation and market leadership could shift elsewhere.
