In its announcement, Bittensor says it is releasing Bittensor v431, an overhaul of Bittensor tooling that includes new SDK security primitives, Rust-based tooling, and the full release of Conviction for stake-lock subnet ownership. The main change is that Conviction moves from a limited or scoped mechanism into live infrastructure for subnet ownership. That shifts subnet ownership economics from a planned design to an active part of the network, which can matter more than the tooling updates because it changes how ownership commitments are enforced. The SDK security primitives and Rust-based tooling improve the developer and operational surface, but they are more incremental than the Conviction release. Their effect depends on whether builders and subnet operators actually use the new tools, while Conviction changes the rules of the subnet market as soon as the release is in place. We are releasing Bittensor v431 -- an overhaul of Bittensor tooling. Our vision is that decentralized autonomous organizations, like Bittensor and its subnets, will be run by LLMs and owned by humans. For that we need first-class operational security tooling and transparency.
