WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - The euphoria in crypto markets triggered by the liquidity boost announced by the U.S. Treasury continues unabated early on Friday. The heavy inflows to U.S.-listed Bitcoin Spot ETF products reflected the positive sentiment and the rising institutional support. Massive liquidation of short positions also contributed to the surge in prices. Crypto market capitalization has increased almost 7 percent during the past 24 hours as markets cheered reports a crypto-friendly regulatory environment in the U.S.Bitcoin touched high of $79,464 during the past 24 hours while overall crypto market capitalization has touched a high of $2.64 trillion. The CMC Crypto Fear and Greed Index that tracks sentiment in the crypto market has surged further in the Greed zone to a level of 72. The index was at 64 (Greed) a day ago and 36 (Fear) a week earlier.Bitcoin is continuing in the 12th position in the global ranking of all assets as per market capitalization published by companiesmarketcap.com. The leading cryptocurrency is positioned between 11th ranked Saudi Aramco and 13th ranked Meta Platforms. With strong overnight gains, Ethereum has jumped four notches to the 65th position in the global ranking of all assets as per market capitalization published by companiesmarketcap.com.The cascading short liquidations in the market supported the surge in cryptocurrency prices. Short positions of $1.2 billion were liquidated during the past 24 hours. Including liquidation of long positions amounting to $292 million, the aggregate liquidations stood at $1.50 billion during the 24-hour period.Amidst the persisting short squeeze, overall crypto market capitalization has increased 6.7 percent overnight to $2.59 trillion while market leader Bitcoin traded between $79,464 and $71,157 during the same period. The increase in overall crypto market capitalization was also accompanied by a 2-percent increase in trading volumes.Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies, currently 78 are trading with overnight gains of more than a percent while 2 are trading with overnight losses of more than 1 percent.Bitcoin (BTC), the largest cryptocurrency is currently trading 7.1 percent higher on an overnight basis at $76,7810.14. The current price is around 39 percent below the all-time high of $126,198.07 recorded on October 7, 2025. The original cryptocurrency's year-to-date losses have fallen to less than 13 percent.Bitcoin Spot ETF products in the U.S. witnessed net inflows rising to $606 million on Thursday from $517 million on Wednesday. iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF topped with net inflows of $503 million.Ethereum (ETH) is trading 4.3 percent higher at $2,376.63. The leading alternate coin is trading 52 percent below the all-time-high of $4,953.73 recorded on August 25, 2025. The 24-hour trading ranged between $2,446.94 and $2,255.63. Ethereum's year-to-date losses have decreased to 19.9 percent.Ethereum Spot ETF products in the U.S. witnessed net inflows rising to $220 million from $187 million on Wednesday. iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) topped with net inflows of $173 million.4th ranked BNB (BNB) jumped 5.7 percent overnight resulting in price increasing to $677.78. BNB is trading 51 percent below the all-time high of $1,370.55 touched on October 13, 2025.5th ranked XRP (XRP), a payments-focused cryptocurrency surged 15.1 percent overnight and is currently trading at $1.40, around 64 percent below the all-time high of $3.84 touched on January 4, 2018.The price of 7th ranked Solana (SOL) increased 4.9 percent overnight to $90.74. SOL's current price is around 69 percent below its all-time-high of $294.33 recorded on January 19, 2025. U.S.-listed Solana Spot ETF products witnessed net inflows jumping to $15 million on Thursday from $3 million on Wednesday.TRON (TRX) ranked 8th overall is currently trading 0.55 percent higher at $0.3398. The trading price is 23 percent below the cryptocurrency's all-time high of $0.4407 recorded on December 4, 2024.9th ranked Hyperliquid (HYPE) rallied 5.9 percent overnight, to trade at $76.10, around 1 percent below the all-time high. U.S.-listed Hyperliquid Spot ETF products witnessed net inflows of $6 million on Thursday versus net outflows of $2 million on Wednesday.Memecoin Dogecoin (DOGE) ranked 10th overall jumped 8.1 percent overnight and is currently trading at $0.0837.
