Bitcoin was trading at about $80,840 on August 25, after rising roughly 4.3% in the past 24 hours. According to BlockBeats On-chain Detection, a whale address beginning with 0x6046 that opened a large short position yesterday has been pushed to within about 2.5% of its liquidation line and is currently the largest address closest to liquidation on Hyperliquid.The whale shorted 559.4 BTC in batches last night at an average entry price of $79,318.4. The position is now worth about $45.218 million, with an unrealized loss of about $851,000 and a return rate of -38.4%.The position uses 20x isolated leverage, with a current liquidation price of about $82,896.5. If BTC rises another $2,057 from the current level, or about 2.5%, it would reach the liquidation threshold.As of press time, the whale had not placed any public stop-loss, take-profit, or reduction orders, and the 559.4 BTC short position remained fully intact.The address was a first-time active account on Hyperliquid. On the evening of August 24, it first received about 992,000 USDC from an address beginning with 0x6b9e, then began shorting BTC about 90 seconds after the funds arrived. It later added about 1.6 million USDC in two separate deposits as margin, bringing total funding to about $2.592 million.
