Bitcoin Red Team Scans 150 Code Repositories and Reveals Security Flaws

Bitcoin Red Team said it has scanned 150 code repositories, privately disclosed more than 10 vulnerabilities, and identified key issues while hardening wallets, cryptographic libraries, and infrastructure after the COLDCARD vulnerability incident. According to Odaily, the volunteer group said the work has cost about $20,000 in AI compute, funded by OpenSats.Researchers are using multiple AI tools, and many said open-source models such as Kimi K3 have become a main tool for security research, while frontier closed models from OpenAI and Anthropic are seen as more limited for this type of analysis. The team plans to open source its AI security tools so projects can continue auditing their own code repositories.
