Protocol Watch founder Christine D. Kim said Bitcoin Core v32 completed feature freeze on August 20, and developers are now focused mainly on bug fixes and minor optimizations. According to ChainCatcher, the final release is expected in October this year. The update is designed to improve block validation speed by up to about three times through parallel processing across multiple CPU cores. It also introduces a global transaction queue and rate limits to improve node stability during sudden spikes in transaction volume, along with a fee estimation mechanism based on mempool status to reduce overestimation. The update does not include any changes to Bitcoin network protocol rules.
