Bitcoin and ether ETFs draw $2.6 billion in strongest inflow week since October, tripling volume
U.S. spot bitcoin and ether ETFs drew a combined $2.6 billion in net inflows last week, their strongest week since October 2025, according to The Block’s analysis of SoSoValue data.Spot bitcoin (BTC) ETFs logged $1.9 billion in net inflows, while spot ether ETFs drew $697.2 million. Both categories recorded their largest weekly inflows of 2026.The result reversed a combined $392.0 million outflow during the previous week, representing a week-over-week swing of about $3 billion. It also more than doubled the $1.1 billion combined inflow recorded during the week ending Aug. 7, which was then the strongest result for both categories since April, as The Block previously reported.Bitcoin ETF volume more than triplesThe $1.9 billion in inflows to U.S. bitcoin ETFs was those funds' largest weekly total since the week ending Oct. 10, 2025, which saw $2.7 billion in net inflows, per SoSoValue data. Cumulative net inflows since the bitcoin ETFs began trading reached $53.7 billion.Trading volume climbed to $22.1 billion from $6.9 billion in the previous week, an increase of more than 219%. The funds' combined net assets under management rose 25.4% to $96.1 billion from $76.6 billion, which reflects both the new inflows and bitcoin’s price appreciation.Much of the buying occurred during the market rally on Wednesday and Thursday. The funds drew $517.2 million on Wednesday, their largest daily inflow since May 4, The Block previously reported. Thursday added $606.3 million, led by $503.0 million entering BlackRock’s IBIT.Ether funds also see best week since OctoberSpot ether (ETH) ETFs also registered their strongest weekly inflows since last October. The funds’ $697.2 million total was their largest since the week ending Oct. 3, 2025, when they attracted nearly $1.3 billion, according to SoSoValue data. The U.S.-based ether ETFs had recorded a $2.3 million net outflow during the week before last. Their cumulative net inflows since launch now stand at $12.2 billion.Weekly trading volume rose to $6.9 billion from $1.9 billion, an increase of 259.4%. Net assets climbed 35.9% to $14.3 billion from $10.5 billion.Ether ETF net assets now exceed cumulative net inflows by approximately $2.1 billion. Two weeks earlier, the funds’ assets were about $711 million below cumulative inflows, according to The Block’s previous analysis. The reversal largely reflects ether’s price gains alongside the fresh inflows. The ETF inflows coincided with a broad crypto rally. Bitcoin briefly traded above $79,000 on Friday during its largest weekly gain in two years, while bitcoin and ether both gained between 24% and 28% for the week, The Block reported.Bitcoin traded near $77,200 on Saturday afternoon, while ether changed hands around $2,423, according to The Block’s Bitcoin and Ethereum price pages. The strong week did not fully erase the products’ losses for the year, however. Bitcoin ETFs have seen approximately $2.9 billion in net outflows for 2026, while ether ETFs are down about $191.8 million. The latest inflows reduced the two categories’ combined year-to-date deficit from $5.7 billion to $3.1 billion, though.Disclaimer: The Block is an independent media outlet that delivers news, research, and data.
