Avalanche token hits 6-mth high as Goldman Treasury fund joins Lynq network
Avalanche’s AVAX token jumped to a six-month high Tuesday after Goldman Sachs made its roughly $100 billion Treasury money-market fund available through Lynq, an institutional settlement network built on Avalanche blockchain technology..AVAX climbed as high as $11.99 on Tuesday, extending a rally that has lifted the cryptocurrency sharply in recent weeks. The token was recently up about 10% for the day. The move followed Monday’s announcement that Goldman Sachs’ Financial Square Treasury Instruments Fund () can now be accessed by qualified U.S. participants through Lynq. The development gives digital-asset firms another way to hold cash in a traditional Treasury fund while operating within crypto-focused settlement infrastructure. The Goldman fund itself has not been tokenized. Instead, tZERO Securities, an SEC-registered broker-dealer, is facilitating access to the existing fund through Lynq. tZERO described FTIXX as roughly a $100 billion fund and said its addition expands the treasury and cash-management options available to Lynq participants.Lynq was developed by Arca Labs, Tassat and tZERO as a real-time settlement network for institutional digital assets. The network launched in July 2025, with its first transaction recording client assets on the Avalanche blockchain, according to its website.Avalanche provides the open-source Layer 1 blockchain infrastructure while U.S. Bank serves as Lynq’s qualified cash custodian. tZERO Securities operates the platform and handles onboarding and transaction services. The addition of Goldman’s fund gives Lynq users access to a large traditional money-market product alongside the network’s blockchain-based settlement capabilities. Lynq says clients can transfer assets between participants in real time and earn interest on holdings during the settlement process. The platform said in February that assets on Lynq had surpassed $89 million and that it had partnerships with more than 30 institutional digital-asset firms.Avalanche is a proof-of-stake blockchain platform designed to support decentralized applications and customized Layer 1 networks. Its architecture includes the C-Chain, an Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible blockchain for smart contracts, as well as the P-Chain for coordinating validators and staking and the X-Chain for creating and transferring digital assets. Developers also can create independent Avalanche L1 networks with customized rules, fees and permissioning.AVAX is the network’s native token. It is used to pay transaction fees and secure Avalanche through staking. The token has a maximum supply of 720 million.Ava Labs is the blockchain technology company that helped develop Avalanche and continues to build infrastructure and tools around the network. The company was founded by researchers and engineers with ties to Cornell University. Ava Labs describes its focus as bringing financial assets and business systems onchain, with Avalanche serving as its core blockchain platform. Avalanche itself is open-source and is supported by developers and validators beyond Ava Labs. The Goldman fund announcement provides Avalanche with another example of traditional financial infrastructure being connected to its blockchain technology. Lynq’s existing partners and participants have included Galaxy, Crypto.com, FalconX, Fireblocks, Wintermute and B2C2.Content provided by Seeking Alpha is intended for information purposes only, and that Seeking Alpha does not offer any personalist investment advice and is not a licensed securities dealer, broker, US investment adviser or investment bank.
