American Bitcoin President Matt Prusak Leaves for Giga Energy on August 4

Matt Prusak, president and interim chief financial officer of American Bitcoin, said he will leave the Trump family-linked bitcoin miner effective August 4 and join AI and energy infrastructure developer Giga Energy as chief business officer and interim chief financial officer. According to Foresight News, Prusak said he is moving from years of building bitcoin businesses to upstream power infrastructure, which he described as a constraint on mining and AI compute growth.American Bitcoin was co-founded by Eric Trump and backed by Hut 8. Prusak had been one of the company’s public advocates for its bitcoin treasury strategy, focusing on computing power expansion and growth in bitcoin holdings per share.Giga Energy is based in Houston and focuses on power equipment and AI data center infrastructure development and manufacturing. It says it has delivered more than 6.5 gigawatts of power infrastructure and is developing more than 500 megawatts of AI-ready data center capacity.The report said the personnel change reflects a broader shift among bitcoin miners toward AI and power infrastructure as mining margins come under pressure. More miners are turning their power, land, and data center expertise toward AI compute demand, while access to power has become a key bottleneck for expansion.
