Aerodrome and Velodrome Merge to Launch Aero Across Seven Blockchain Networks
Aerodrome and Velodrome have merged to launch Aero, an onchain spot exchange. According to PANews, citing The Block, Aero is live on Ethereum mainnet, Base, Robinhood Chain, Ink, OP Mainnet, Arc, and Arbitrum, which together record about $120 billion in monthly DEX trading volume. AERO and VELO tokens will migrate to a new AERO token, while veAERO and veVELO will convert to sAERO. Dromos Labs developed Aero, and founder and CEO Alex Cutler said all platform revenue will be distributed to AERO stakers. New features include Predictive Allocation, which lets stakers direct liquidity reward budgets to markets they expect to generate revenue; Metaswaps, a cross-network trading feature; and Slipstream V3, which supports dynamic fees and MEV capture. In the third quarter, Aerodrome accounted for 58% of DEX trading volume on Base, while Velodrome held a 60% share on OP Mainnet.
