Banks are blocking some U.K. investors from buying digital assets, according to research from IG. The research shows 40% of U.K. crypto investors have had a payment blocked or delayed by their bank when trying to purchase digital assets. Banks typically cite fraud prevention as a reason for intervening. Some 42% of U.K. adults said they opposed banks interfering in crypto transactions compared to 33% who support such action. "This overreach from banks is only possible because there's still no clear U.K. regulatory framework in place governing crypto," IG's U.K. managing director Michael Healy says.
